Where the marks actually are
The blueprint's weighting is unusually skewed, and it's the single most useful thing to know before you start. Candidates over-prepare Prompt & Context Engineering because prompting feels like the Claude skill, and under-prepare the two domains below that are half the paper.

How many questions is the CCDV-F exam?
53 questions in 120 minutes, multiple-choice and multiple-response. Each multiple-response item states how many answers to select.
What score do you need to pass CCDV-F?
720 out of 1000 on a scaled score. Your score report breaks down percent correct per domain.
What does the CCDV-F exam cost?
US$125 per attempt, paid to Anthropic and delivered through Pearson VUE. Every attempt is charged.
Are there prerequisites for CCDV-F?
None are mandatory. Anthropic recommends 1–5 years of engineering experience and at least 6 months of hands-on work with Claude or a comparable LLM platform, plus Python or TypeScript and REST API familiarity. The credential is awarded on exam performance alone.
How long is the certification valid?
12 months. Renewal is a free, non-proctored assessment on the Anthropic Partner Academy — but if it lapses, you retake the full exam at full price.
What happens if I fail?
You wait 14 days after a first fail, 30 days after a second, and 90 days after a third, with a maximum of 4 attempts in a rolling 12-month period. The fee applies each time.
Which domain matters most?
Applications & Integration at 33.1% — the heaviest single domain across any Claude certification. With Model Selection & Optimization at 16.8%, those two are roughly half the paper.
